In addition to professional sports, Troy has great college athletics at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. More than 70% of RPI students participate in sports and you can see hockey, basketball, and soccer as well as many other teams compete with their local rivals.
Troy Savings Bank Music Hall
As the name implies, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall was a bank that was converted into a music venue with incredible acoustics. It’s a National Historic Landmark and you can attend concerts and hear music of many genres from jazz to classical. Legends and up-and-comers are both featured during the concert season.
Children’s Museum of Science and Technology
If you’re looking for something to do with the kids, Troy has the area’s only science center designed for children. CMOST is an interactive museum where kids from 18 months up to the tween years get to not only view the exhibits but interact with them. They can observe, analyze, and build things. The little ones have so much they don’t even realize how much they are learning.
Brown’s Brewing Company
For aficionados of beer, Brown’s Brewing Company is a must-see destination. It’s family owned and popular with locals and visitors alike. A wide selection of craft beers and an excellent menu of food are available to please any palate.
